Wall Whale

I used a normal pool brush before, and always had the problem with the brush not sticking to the wall. I would normally have to use a lot of force to successfully brush a vertical section of pool wall. Then the brush finally broke. So I went to a local pool supply to get another brush and came across the Wall Whale brush. It's unique because in addition to the brush, it has a fin, which creates a powerful force, that basically sticks the brush to the pool wall. It's pretty effortless to use, and successfully cleans the area that I brush.
I have had it for a few months and love it.

Now this, I like. Way better than iStubz. I wonder if anyone makes a reusable flipper attachment for regular pool brushes. I doubt the flipper wears out like the brushes do.
Shelly
...but does it come with a pool?

Now, if they only had a retail partner in the Toronto area!
@Kevin: the wall whale website has a conversion kit for existing brushes.

Cool Pool Tool!
Stephen
Looks like something you can throw together yourself for free. Cool tool though...

Thanks Mike. Stephen will be going into competition with Wall Whale (luckily his materials are free, and he doesn't value his time). And even more great news: Kevin likes this tool!

way neat to see this on Cool Tools! For years I have been a fan of Kevin and this blog. Glad I found something to add to such a great list of other "cool tools"
thanks!

AH!!! Brilliant! If only I had one of these when I was younger I wouldn't have hated our pool so much! : \

Got one last year, works great on bottom, not so great on walls. You need two brushes, the tail flips over too much on walls.

They used to make just the "tail" portion that you added to your current pool brush. I find it very effective on the side walls, it just takes a little technique to keep the tail from flipping over. Once you get the technique you'll get the job done in half the time. Great tool.

On a 3 foot wall as you pull up on the brush the force of the water makes it flip, on long horizontal runs you can make t flip back over. I'd like to see you technique work,

I completely agree with you. It is very convenient. Here is a nice video which proves it: http://www.videorolls.com/watch/The-Wall-Whale-Demonstration

Started using this on rough "marble dust" pool surface this year when algae got bad. Removed flipper part from wimpy original nylon brush after using it with unstellar results, remounted flipper on stainless steel bristle brush. (Check Wall Whale web site, they have an option where you can just buy the flipper and attach it to a wide brush you already own, if you have a preference.) Much better.
Still looking for ultimate chlorine puck vise. The "Lockjaw" I currently use is subpar on many counts.
