Can-Gun 1

cangun1.jpg

Using your index finger to press and steer a can of spray paint gets old very quickly. If your paint job lasts more than a few minutes, you really should use a snap-on pistol grip. It saves your knuckle, keeps paint off your trigger finger, and gives you an easy way to guide the spray. For years I've used an earlier model of this grip (called simply Can-Gun), but that one was only operated with a single finger trigger. This new version uses your whole palm. It's comfortable, quick-on and off, and the only way to spray. I had a 5-can job on a chain-link fence and the Can-Gun made it kind of fun. Even for small spray paint jobs, I slip one of these on.

Have used these from time to time. When they work, they are great. Some cans just never want to work with these. With that said, I recommend trying them.

I love mine! I picked up a cheap one from OSH many years ago that still works great. I have yet to find a can that doesn't cooperate with my little plastic grip. The particular model I have is a 2-finger deal, which is usually good enough for a few cans' worth of painting. The best part is the increased control over where the spray is going.

Yup, these are the shizzle. I've even had a friend have an auto paint store fill 10 spraycans full of a custom color mix for his car, buy one of these, and do a $100 rattlecan paint job on his car that puts any Maaco budget job to shame. The trigger really helps with control.

Also works on many other types of spray cans; I've had great success using them on Silly String when the occasion called for it.

This is a great idea these things work great on most cans.

LOL thinking of the ratio of paint put to use vs. paint fouling the environment if you spraypaint a chainlink fence!

Plush roller next time?

We use these on our farm to mark bamboo. They're great, the only reservation we have is that they can get knocked out of alignment and require adjustment from time to time to keep spraying straight.

Ken Becker

Hi:

Kevin, thanks for taking time to review and write about my new CanGun1.

I'm Ken Becker, the guy who I invented, patented, had the tooling made and am molding this CanGun1 right here in the USA out of 80% (yes, 100% too!) recycled plastic.

I run a family-owned business and I am grateful that Kevin not only took the time to test my product but was pleased enough with it to recommend it y'all, his readers.

Here's Some 411 on CanGun1:

CanGun1 is the first and only spray can tool worldwide, with a FullGrip Trigger, nearly 3:1 Mechanical Advantage (making spraying up to 8X easier than other products in this category).

CanGun1 received the Handyman Member Tester Seal of Approval and the only spray can tool with an exclusive lifetime warranty.

CanGun1 is avail. thru all Ace Hardware (item# 1390657 - both online and brick & mortar) stores, among others, nationwide, as well as Amazon.com (#1 Best Seller - Amazon.com ASIN# B002EQEE82), Lee Valley Tools (Item # 27K06.90 - Spray Can Trigger Handle), Home Trends Magazine ( Item # 907429 - Aerosol Can Trigger Sprayer). And beginning in March 2010, ALL TRACTOR SUPPLY STORES nationwide will be carrying our Valspar CoBranded version of CANGUN1 under the Valspar brand "The Easiest Spray Handle Available" Valspar Item # GC-2 Universal CAN-GUN12U.

You can 'read all about' the accolades, etc. that CanGun1 has already
received in its 6 months of being on the market and other places to buy it) on my website at cangun1.com The blog tab is chockoblock full of user reviews, so don't take my, or Kevin's word for it, read all about it and, if you are so inclined, try it for yourself.

Because I totally believe in my product, and to show my appreciation for Kevin writing about it, I am offering the first 6 folks who write to me
(email address/contact form is on my website) a free CanGun1. No strings attached. Just my way of showing my thanks.

I hope you get a chance to enjoy pain-free, pro-style spraying with
CAN-GUN1! Drop me a line. Let me know what you think.

All the best,

Ken Becker, CANGUN1 Inventor & Pres.

I do like this product and ordered one from Amazon to cover some graffiti at my work.
However, PRICE WARNING:

I ordered from Amazon ($8) + ($4 shipping) = $12.
I went to Home Depot to actually pick up the spray paint and found a knock-off for $3.

Noah, the one you bought at Home Depot is made in China for Rust-Oleum. This knock-off has Negative mechanical advantage which means that for every pound of force apply to the trigger, you actually loose 15% of your force applied. This knock off requires nearly 3X more force to push the spray tip than just using the spray can without a handle.

On the contrary, with CANGUN1 you actually gain over 250% of the force you apply due to our products FullGrip trigger with 2.5:1 leverage, 4 inch long trigger with 22X the surface area, compared to a regular spray cans tip. Quite a difference, especially for those extended spraying jobs.

Additionally, CANGUN1 is Made in the USA from 80% recycled plastic and carry our Lifetime Warranty. The ones at Home Depot are made in China, have no recycled content and NO WARRANTY and take 8X more pressure to squeeze via a very uncomfotable one finger trigger.

CANGUN1 is the only Spray Can Tool on the market... at any price. It is the only spray can tool that can be used while wearing gloves.

Happy Pain-Free Spraying with CANGUN1.

Ken
