Cox Wexford Caulk Gun

My father sent me this with an admonition to immediately throw away all the metal caulk guns I have, since I will never want to touch them again -- and I have to agree. This one has an integral spike to break the internal cartridge membrane. It's lightweight but won't break (nor will it break anything else) if you drop it. It's as strong as I have ever required, has never jammed or failed in any way, and the orange color is easy to find in the tool cabinet among all the other junk. As a Victorian homeowner, I use it several times a year and have had this one 3-4 years now. If I were to lose it, I would put off a caulking project until a new one arrived in the mail.

As a professional home detailer for home tracts, I've gone through countless tubes of calking. I originally started with a standard metal caulking gun, which lacked control and always felt bulky. After getting carpal tunnel, I needed to find a caulking gun that required less pressure to use. I saw it at a Lowe's and saw that it had a 7:1 ratio. So I decided to give it a try and absolutely love it. It's light, doesn't break or break anything like you said... and have been using it professionally for years. In fact... I still have my original one... (which was missing for a few months because someone borrowed it) Any other caulking gun just won't do.... I'm buying 5 more and storing them... just in case...

Stores flat. You can turn the tube of caulking inside the housing for crack chasing. The piercing pin on mine swings out from a rivet, made of wire. I will use other types, but I prefer this design.
