Credit Card Survival Tool

I have two friends who've been carrying these slim, multi-tools for a few years now and swear by them. I've only used the mini-screwdriver and bottle opener, but those functions alone seem worth it. It's stainless steel and will add some weight to your load, but no more than the average metal beverage pop-top. Why junk up your keychain when you can slip another "card" into your wallet? Added bonus: can opener, straight edge, knife edge, et al.

A cool tool is anything useful that is superior to comparable items. If you think this tool is inferior suggest a better one. You are welcome to insult a tool, but comments containing insults to individual people will be deleted. Corrections of fact are always welcomed, if stated politely. Recommendations of better tools are dearly wanted and may be elevated to the front page.

Would be sweet, until you forgot to take it out of your wallet before going to the airport and the TSA nazis confiscated it...

Yes. Its kinda cool but credit card won’t be as cool as it is if you’ll encounter problems regarding your credit card just like when your credit card company blacklisted you and cut your credit limit and also ruining your credit score if you purchase using the card in the store the company don’t like. Think what will you do with that stuff.. That is why the Congress is working on the House Bill 1292 to protect those cardholders who will encounter such thing while enjoying the limits of that piece of plastic. So for credit cardholders out there, let us support House Bill 1292.

I bought a very similar tool probably 30 or 35 years ago, and never used it ... until a couple of years ago I was cycling in rural France on rented bikes with my partner.
Unbeknownst to him, one of the pedals was loose, and after a while, it came unscrewed and fell off while he was pedaling, seriously stripping the threads of the aluminum crank in the process. I was able to clean up the threads with the sharp point and the file-edge on the tool. It saved our asses!

This is one of my favorite everyday tools: a must have for anyone!!! I have opened many a sodey bottle with this, plus I have used the measuring notches on the side many times in my side profession as a lapidary. I haven't used the can opener yet, nor have needed the saw or mini-wrenches, but they all look up to the task. BTW, what is the round hole thingie or the long slit used for???
PS: I've gotten this through TSA security a couple of times!!!

I got this tool for free with the purchase of a 12 pack Great Western Gold Strong brand beer (6.3% smooth). The tool was gold in colour and the sharp edges are very sharp. In fact I would go on to write that they are so sharp you actually need that sleeve that comes with it to protect yourself and others. I used it daily for different things for a week until I gave it away to my dad. Its really good I used it with a hammer and it never broke.
