Logicomix

Disguised as a biography of mathematician Bertrand Russell in graphic novel form, this comic book is really about the nature and limits of logic. It takes heady, heavy, and key ideas in logic and renders them witty, visual, and dramatic. You'll learn a lot. The fact that many of the original logicians were mentally unbalanced and irrational, adds a dash of delicious paradox and spice to this entertaining book.

A cool tool is anything useful that is superior to comparable items. If you think this tool is inferior suggest a better one. You are welcome to insult a tool, but comments containing insults to individual people will be deleted. Corrections of fact are always welcomed, if stated politely. Recommendations of better tools are dearly wanted and may be elevated to the front page.

One day I realized that Bertrand Russel had influenced my thinking more than I could have imagined. I was born in 1950.
I wrote this post about that realization:

This looks fantastic. I've read everything Russell has written... love his mind, but don't know enough to criticize his phillsophy. Read "Nightmares of Famous people" for a laugh.

This looks fun and maybe even cool but how can this be described as tool? The DIY network has a show filled with cool tools to help me build things, Lifehacker has tools that keep me efficient.. What are you guys doing? You have lost your way... Get a grip on this content or your readers are going to vanish... SHOW ME SOME COOL TOOLS...please...
Thanks and Happy Holidays

@Andrew: It's a tradition. Been doing it for seven years now. Every year at year's end I do a roundup of 5 great books with ideas. The tool part is the ideas. You can use them. As it says at the very top of the Cool Tool front page: "A cool tool can be a book, ......"

I bought this within seconds of reading this review and, despite only paying regular shipping, it came to me in overnight. Gave it to my son ( HS Junior) who basically read it from cover to cover non-stop. Consider that a success.
